The original system was Navision 2018 in an on-premise version hosted in Azure. Using Microsoft’s standard tools, the database was gradually migrated through successive on-premise versions of Business Central until reaching the target SaaS environment. During the preparation phase, the process and tools were thoroughly tested multiple times to proactively address any potential issues before the go-live.

The project followed the planned schedule. Thanks to a strong focus on testing the migration tools and the customer’s active involvement, the transition to live operation went smoothly and on time.

The only complication occurred when users were temporarily unable to connect to the NAV database on the final day of completing accounting operations prior to the migration. The project team quickly improvised an alternative plan, and the migration started with only a few hours’ delay. The entire migration and all follow-up activities, scheduled for the first weekend of July, were completed without issues and with enough buffer, allowing the customer to begin using Business Central without any disruption on Monday morning.
